Minister Acharya assumes office



Kathmandu, May 7: Newly appointed Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Surendra Raj Acharya has assumed his office.

Minister Acharya took charge of his office at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens at Singha Durbar this afternoon, after taking the oath of office and secrecy from President Ramchandra Paudel.

Newly appointed Minister sworn in

President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Member of Parliament Surendra Raj Acharya as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Acharya has been appointed to the ministerial post today at the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Acharya took the oath of office and secrecy before President Paudel today itself, the Office of the President stated.

Present in the oath-taking ceremony at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, were the Prime Minister, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, among other dignitaries.

Likewise, the President has changed the portfolio of Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Mahindra Ray Yadav and assigned him the portfolio of the Ministry of Water Supply.
