NC leader Paudel for party convention before election

Kathmandu, Dec 23: Nepali Congress leader and former minister Pradeep Paudel has underscored the urgency of holding party general convention before election to the House of Representatives (HoR) slated for March 5.

The NC must go to voting with new leadership in party. During an interaction with media persons this morning, leader Paudel said the party’s future should be guided by its new leadership and spirit of Gen Z movement. Dynamic party is the need of hour, he added.

The NC has decided to hold its 15th general convention from January 10-14, 2026 in the federal capital, Kathmandu.

Holding election on time is demanded even by the Gen Z movement. NC does not prefer restoration of House of Representative to election. However, the government should play a significant role in holding HoR election in a free and fair atmosphere.

“In the name of general convention schedule, NC does not have luxury to ignore it before the HoR election,” he reiterated.

Leader Paudel further reminded that party President Deuba has already directed the office bearers and leaders to hold the general convention as per the schedule so that he would hand over the party leadership.

Paudel said he would vie for party General Secretary in the upcoming 15th general convention. #nepal #rss
