Kathmandu, June 11: In the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 triangular One Day International (ODI) series, Nepal defeated the Netherlands by 16 runs. This marks Nepal’s second consecutive win against the Netherlands in the ongoing tournament.
The match was held at the Forthill Cricket Ground in Dundee, Scotland. Chasing Nepal’s target of 237 runs, the Netherlands were bowled out for 220 runs in 49.2 overs.
For Nepal, Nandan Yadav and Sandeep Lamichhane each took three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi claimed two wickets, while Karan KC and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each.

For the Netherlands, Wesley Barresi scored the highest with 36 runs, followed by Scott Edwards with 30 and Kyle Klein with 25. Other notable contributions came from Michael Levitt (27), Noah Croes (22), Teja Nidamanuru (17), and Roelof van der Merwe (16).
Earlier, after losing the toss and being put in to bat first, Nepal scored 236 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Aarif Sheikh top-scored with 84 runs off 85 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.

Bhim Sharki and captain Rohit Kumar Paudel each added 35 runs. Kushal Bhurtel contributed 18, Dipendra Singh Airee 16, while Basir Ahamad and Karan KC scored 11 runs each. Nandan Yadav added 10 runs, and Sandeep Lamichhane was dismissed for 2.

For the Netherlands, Paul van Meekeren took four wickets, Michael Levitt claimed three, and Aryan Dutt picked up one wicket.
Nepal’s Aarif Sheikh was declared as the player of the match for his valuable contribution of 84 runs.
