Kathmandu, April 29: Nepal and UAE have entered the finals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup Cricket being held in Kathmandu.
After the match between Nepal and Kuwait was affected by rain, Nepal directly reached the final after being group winner, while UAE reached the final by defeating Oman based on the DLS system. UAE won by 2 runs.
The match between Nepal and Kuwait at TU cricket stadium was affected due to rain. In the match, which was shortened to 42 overs due to rain, Nepal set a target of 281 runs based on the DLS system. Batting back, Kuwait scored 37 runs after losing 6 wickets in 8.3 overs, but the match was again stopped due to rain.
Due to the fact that Kuwait did not play till 20 overs, the result could not be given by the DLS, so the match between Kuwait and Nepal remained meaningless.
On the other hand, UAE defeated Oman by 2 runs based on DLS system. Chasing the target of 237 runs given by the UAE, Oman scored 190 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 43 overs, but the match was postponed due to rain.
Now the final match will be held on Monday. Kuwait and Oman will play for third place on Sunday.
