Dhanusha, Dec 20: The 52nd National Conference and General Assembly of Nepal Jaycees has started in Janakpurdham from today.
The Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Manoj Saha, inaugurated the conference. Mayor Saha stated that the role of the Jaycees is important in youth leadership development, social service and positive change.
In this connection, he also praised the role played by Janakpur Jaycees in spreading awareness in society and making young people responsible citizens.
The conference, which will be held at Tirahutiya Gachhi in Janakpurdham until December 22, will see participation from over 5,000 representatives affiliated with 186 branches of the Jaycees in Nepal.
Director Sudhir Pajiyar stated that various leadership development, personality development and organisational activities of Nepal Jaycees, such as oratory contests, theme seminars, and the National Assembly, will be organized as part of the conference.
Furthermore, the conference is said to be important for youth leadership development and the expansion of national-level networks.
The first convention of Nepal Jaycees was held here in 1977 under the leadership of President Laxmi Bahadur Nirala and Managing Director Sitaram Sikariya. Later, the conventions were held in Janakpurdham in 1993 under President Shambhu Saha, in 2003 under Santosh Saha, and in 2018 under Jitendra Mahaseth.
It has been stated that the upcoming convention will discuss the organisation’s future course of action, leadership selection, and social activities.
