Kathmandu, May 15: Nepal Telecom has reported growth in both revenue and net profit during the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2025/26, according to its unaudited financial statement.

The company’s net profit rose to Rs. 6.27 billion during the review period, marking an increase of Rs. 562 million or 9.58 per cent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Nepal Telecom had posted a net profit of Rs. 5.71 billion in the third quarter of the last fiscal year.

Total operating income increased to Rs. 25.92 billion from Rs. 25.31 billion recorded during the corresponding period last year, reflecting a growth of 2.42 per cent.

Similarly, the company’s total income reached Rs. 28.85 billion, up from Rs. 28.43 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The increase amounted to Rs. 423 million or 1.49 per cent.

Nepal Telecom’s annualised earnings per share (EPS) also improved to Rs. 46.47, compared to Rs. 42.30 in the same period last year.

According to the financial report, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs. 14.38 billion, slightly higher than Rs. 14.19 billion recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The company attributed the growth in revenue and profitability to several factors. Although interest income declined by around Rs. 576 million, or 20.57 per cent, due to falling interest rates, revenue from GSM services increased by Rs. 577 million, or 2.76 per cent, contributing to higher operating income.

Likewise, depreciation expenses decreased by Rs. 386.9 million, or 8.46 per cent, further supporting the company’s profit growth, Nepal Telecom said. #Nepal
