Kathmandu, May 27: Nepali Congress (NC) chief whip Ramesh Lekhak said the policies and programmes the government presented at parliament have analyzed the country’s economic, governance and constitutional situation and context.
He said this while taking part in the deliberation on government’s policies and programmes at today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).
Lekhak mentioned that the programme has set a goal to build a prosperous, strong and just Nepal by protecting nation and national interests. ‘It has evaluated the constitutional, economic, social and cultural contexts. The policy-programme has come up with a commitment to build prosperous and just Nepal by preserving national interests.
He said the government’s policies-programmes have laid emphasis on implementing the Constitution, bringing economic reforms, assuring good governance, improving service delivery checking corruption, increasing employment opportunities and keeping ecological balance.
‘The government document includes the approach to end all types of discriminations, bring the peace process to logical end, advance sustainable and reliable infrastructural development, establish citizens’ easy access to education and health and promote export-based economy’, he noted.
Chief whip Lekhak said his party has accepted the government policies and programmes as it has made arrangement with resources to reach to the desired destination by analyzing the recent contexts.
‘The policy-programme is an economic-political document of the government. Mainly the declaration has carried three things. It has minutely observed and analyzed economic, constitution and governance contexts of the country’, he further said.
