Kathmandu: The stock market index NEPSE has fallen by about one and a half percent. On the first trading day of the week, the market index NEPSE closed at 1855.06 points after falling by 27.54 points (1.46 percent).
Due to decline in all sub-indices, NEPSE also decreased by about one and a half percent. On Sunday, the finance company sub-index fell the most by 2.88 percent, while Development Bank, Hydropower and other sub-indices also fell by more than 2 percent, while the banking sub-index, which leads the market, fell by 1.52 percent.
Even though the dividend is coming in fast, it has not been able to attract investors. On Sunday, when 37 lakh 78 thousand 951 shares were bought and sold in NEPSE, there was a turnover of around 1.15 billion. Out of which, Agriculture Development Bank had the highest turnover of 62.5 million, Ridi Hydro Company’s turnover was 5 million and Nabil Bank’s turnover was 5 million.
In NEPSE, 210 listed companies’ shares traded on Sunday, while the share prices of 180 companies fell. Similarly, while the share price of 25 companies increased, the share price of 5 companies remained stable. Among the transactions on Sunday, the share price of Easton Hadropower increased and closed at the positive circuit level, while the share price of Dhaulagiri Laguvitta fell by 8.20 percent and the share price of Khaptad Laguvitta fell by 6.11 percent. Similarly, the unit value of Global IME Balance Fund 1 has increased by 9.35 percent.
The share price of Ridi and People’s Hydropower fell by 10 percent and closed in the negative circuit value. The share price of Mahalakshmi Bikas Bank, which did not receive any dividend, fell by 7.31 percent and the share price of Manjushree Finance, which announced that it will not pay dividend from the last financial year’s profit, fell by 7.13 percent.
