One arrested for cheating Rs 12.8 million

Kathmandu, Oct 28: Police have arrested a person on the charge of cheating Rs 12.8 million by falsely promising a person to help win a case under consideration at the court.

The case related to contracts concerning the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track.

Rabindra Maharjan, 45, of Bhaisepati was arrested from Buddhanagar, said Information Officer at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Superintendent of Police, Kaji Kumar Acharya.

Acharya mentioned that an arrest warrant was issued from Kathmandu District Court on October 22 after a complaint was filed at the Office.

A team of police nabbed Maharjan at 1:00 pm on Monday following a search operation.
