Parliament approves Bharat Paudyal as Nepali Ambassador to Canada



Kathmandu, Nov 26:  The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has unanimously approved Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal as the Nepalese Ambassador to Canada.

Secretary Paudyal has been approved for the post after the hearing chaired by the senior member of the committee, Pashupati Shamsher JB Rana, said the spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat, Ekram Giri.

Before that, Secretary Paudyal presented his action plan to the committee and answered the questions of the members.

Meanwhile, Secretary Paudyal, who has been approved as an ambassador, said that he will fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him by the Nepalese government with honesty and integrity.

The recent meeting of the Council of Ministers recommended the appointment of Secretary Paudyal as Ambassador to Canada. After the parliamentary committee approves him, according to the Constitution of Nepal, the President will appoint Mr. Paudyal to that post. Before that, the government of Nepal will have to get agree mo from Canada on the name of Paudyal.
