Kathmandu, Aug 26: The number of women receiving the services from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Thapathali in the fiscal year 2080-81 BS ( 2023-24) was 300,952.
Among them, 25,116 were the recipients of maternity care services and 5,816 were the beneficiaries of gynecological services.
Information about this was shared at a prgramme organsied today, celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Hospital.
Hospital director Dr Shree Prasad Adhikari said 2,787 newborns were admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ( NICU) while 454 admissions were made in the Maternity Intensive Care (MIC-service).
The figures do not include the recipients of the Out Patient Department (OPD) service. Similarly, 194,490 visited the hospital’s OPD for the services.
The hospital was established on Bhadau 10, 2016 BS (August 26,1959) on the day of Shree Krishnajanmasthami, with 40 beds. Now it has been upgraded to the 489-facility.
Among a total of 25,116 individuals admitted for maternity care, 22,379 gave births to 22613 babies.
