Rautahat, Feb 23: A harmony rally was held in Gaur this morning to restore peace and goodwill following recent clashes between two communities.
The rally was organized after the District Administration Office lifted a curfew at 6:30 am, restoring normalcy in markets, vehicular movement, and educational institutions.
The peace march began from Sabgadhaha in Gaur Municipality-6 and proceeded through major thoroughfares of the town. It was attended by Hindu and Muslim religious leaders, community representatives, local people’s representatives, and chiefs of district security bodies.
Participants advocated for social harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect. Chief District Officer Dines Sagar Bhusal urged all parties to cooperate in maintaining peace and avoid spreading false rumors or baseless information.
The curfew had earlier been imposed to control tensions following conflicts between Hindu and Muslim communities in the area. #nepal #peace
