PM Dahal grieves with death of Shalin



Kathmandu, March 2: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has grieved with the death of 14-year-old girl Shalin Pokharel in Chitwan.

Shalin was found dead in the hostel of Ekta Shishu Niketan School in Chitwan. PM Dahal has said, “The incident has made me sad. I have already directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate the incident thoroughly and find out the truth.”

“The government is determined and committed to bring justice to the Pokharel family by investigating the facts of the incident,” PM Dahal has said.

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress has demanded that the government investigate the incident of the death of Shalin Pokharel, a 14-year-old student of Shishu Niketan Boarding School located in Ratnanagar Municipality-10 of Chitwan.

Issuing a statement here today, the party has called for an impartial investigation into the incident, bring out the truth and facts as soon as possible and take action against the culprits. Stating that the serious attention of the party has been drawn to the incident, the statement has said that it was a very serious matter that a student under guardianship of the school was found hanging dead, with suspicions of incitement to suicide or murder.

The statement issued by Chief Secretary of the NC central office Krishna Prasad Paudel also extends the party’s heartfelt condolences to the family of Shalin Pokharel, while paying tributes to the late Pokharel.
