Kathmandu, Nov 8: Photojournalist and Chairman of Nepal Federation of Photo Journalist Association (NFPJ) Pradeep Raj Onta has recently returned to Kathmandu after participating in an International Photo Festival held in Shandong, China. During the event, he captured stunning images of Shandong’s remarkable artworks. Mr Onta shared the following about his journey:
“I recently returned after participating in the International Photo Festival ‘Opportunity China – Vitality Shandong’ held in Shandong Province, China.
The festival took place from October 15 to 21, 2025, and featured the participation of more than 100 photojournalists and photographers from countries including Nepal, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Myanmar, Thailand, Russia, and Fiji. It was jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the International Federation of Photographic Art (China Office, Jinan).
During the event, participants were divided into three groups to visit Shandong’s historical, cultural, and industrial sites. We had the opportunity to tour the Memorial Museum of a peasant leader in Binzhou City, the Yellow River Tower and Park, as well as world-renowned textile industries and a grand carpet museum.
Likewise, during a visit to a jujube orchard run by local farmers, we enjoyed picking fruits ourselves, tasting them fresh, and even taking some home. It was a delightful and memorable experience that allowed us to closely observe China’s rural life. In addition, we enjoyed a cultural and dance performance at the Wudi Film City, which added to the entertainment.
Throughout the trip, participants also observed oil extraction machinery, Chinese opera performances by students, and various bird species in the protected natural area of the Yellow River region.
I believe that such international festivals play an important role in strengthening Nepal-China cultural relations, promoting tourism, and enhancing the global recognition of Nepali photojournalism.” #nepal #china #shandong #photography
