Dhulikhel, Oct 11: President Ramchandra Paudel has said that Nepal has not progressed as expected due to lack of sufficient investments in the field of technology, producing technical, scientific and managerial human resource and developing age-appropriate technology.
Inaugurating the Nepal Technology Innovation Center building of Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok earlier today, the President said that it is necessary to make the future generation technology-friendly and competitive in the world market.
Expressing happiness over the establishment of an academic institution that will initiate research on innovative technology in the country, President Paudel expressed his belief that the center would produce skilled technical human resource needed by the country. He also expressed the belief that the center will make a significant contribution to the field of technology and innovation in Nepal
Emphasizing that specialized research related to agriculture, health and energy should be expanded, he called for publication of research works of an academic nature to contribute to the development of skills, knowledge and innovation that are directly useful to the society and the nation.
