Pokhara, Dec 23: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Surendra Raj Acharya has said that the role of Red Cross Society, which is relentlessly active in the field of humanitarian assistance, was incredible in the time of disaster.
Inaugurating the two-day-long national seminar of Junior and Youth Red Cross in Pokhara on Saturday, Minister Acharya said that effectiveness and roles of Red Cross would be further robust if more youth are engaged in the Red Cross movement.
Minister Acharya suggested that the Red Cross Society should continue its humanitarian assistance by resolving the issues if there are some disputes in the leadership level lately.
He also praised the roles of Red Cross Society performed during the time of disasters, earthquake, coronavirus pandemic, flooding and other crises.
President of Nepal Red Cross Society Sudarshan Nepal, Vice-President Radha Nepali, central committee member Bishnu Nepal and other speakers shared the activities carried out by the Nepal Red Cross Society.
The seminar is likely to issue Pokhara Declaration by holding discussions on the reports by some 300 representatives attending from across the country.
