Kathmandu, April 7: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expressed its disagreement with the Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the government. Party General Secretary Mukul Dhakal said that the party expressed its disagreement saying many issues of the program of the coalition government including CPN (UML) have been left out now.
On Friday morning, the informal meeting of the parliamentary party of RSP concluded that the CMP of the government is soft against controlling corruption.
“The new policy/ program is soft against corruption”, said Dhakal in a conversation with media persons, “Many important issues like rapid detection of incidents related to gender-based violence, opening of business incubation centers, facilitating the investment of non-resident Nepalis, implementing the framework of Digital Nepal, becoming self-sufficient in data servers, the concept of national identity card in one year etc were left out.”
He argued that even though CMP has incorporated issues like voting rights of Nepalis living abroad, time card in government services, Federal Education Act for quality employment-oriented education, umbrella University Act, Health Act for quality and accessible health services were continued in the CMP, they were seen as abstract, aimless and lopsided.
The RSP has voted in favor of incumbent Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, however the government has not included RSP in the policy level decision making process.
