Saplings planted in world heritage site Soyambhu



Kathmandu, July 25: As many as 1,000 saplings have been planted in the world heritage site, Swoyambhu.

The Swoyambhu Management and Conservation General Committee planted 12 species of saplings, including dhupi and chanp on Wednesday.

Officials and employees of the General Committee, Nepal Army and Nepal Police planted saplings in coordination with the District Forest Division Office, Yamaha B Farm and Yokohama City University of Japan.

Ward Chair of Kathmandu metropolitan city-15, Ishwor Man Dangol said tree plantation would be important for controlling soil erosion and maintaining greenery in Swayambhu area.

General Secretary Ashok Buddhacharya informed that the renovation of Swayambhu Chaitya has been completed at a cost of Rs 5 million. #nepal #swoyambhu
