KATHMANDU: An aircraft of Sita Air has survived an accident at Simkot Airport in Humla this evening.
The Dornier plane carrying cargo from Surkhet suffered a tire puncture while landing on the runway of the airport.
According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Simkot branch manager Mohan Giri, the tires punctured while the aircraft was being brought to the parking lot after landing. The rear wheel tyres punctured dragging the aircraft. The crew members on board the plane are safe.
The airport authorities stated that there was no other damage even though the tire of the plane was punctured.
Sita Air has stated that it is preparing to bring new tyres from Nepalgunj or Surkhet.
