State should introduce special programs for Bote community: Prachanda

Chitwan, Jan 16:  Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has emphasized the need for the state to introduce special programs for the development of the Bote community.

During his visit to the Bote Community Homestay in Madi Municipality-1, Bankatta, Chairman Prachanda stated that since the Bote community has been recognized as an indigenous national group, the state must give them special consideration.

Chairman Prachanda remarked, “Since the Bote community is categorized as an indigenous national group, I believe the state should adopt a more focused approach toward their development. I will do my utmost to advocate for this from my position.”

He also acknowledged the progress made by the Bote community. “You, who once relied on riverbanks and boat operations for livelihood, have now transitioned to running homestays and attracting tourists. This is undoubtedly progress for your community, and it must be further expanded,” he said.

Chairman Prachanda visited Madi to inaugurate the golden jubilee celebration of Someshwor Secondary School in Madi Municipality-1, Badhuwa. During his visit, he was warmly welcomed by the local Bote community at their homestay.

On the occasion, Chairman Prachanda had a brief interaction with leaders of the Bote community. The leaders highlighted the need for constructing a cultural center for the community. Prachanda assured them of his support for building the cultural center and expressed his commitment to helping in its establishment.

Known as the capital of the Bote community, the village provided Chairman Prachanda with an opportunity to experience the Bote culture firsthand. #prachanda #nepal #bote
