Yubaraj Lama elected as the President of Nepal Karate Federation

Bharatpur, March 26: Yubaraj Lama has been re-elected as the President of the Nepal Karate Federation. The convention held at Patihani in Chitwan unanimously elected him as the 22-member working committee.

Prakash Mohan Dhaubhadel, Dev Kumar Lama, Makendra Bahadur Singh, Om Krishna Prasai, Majindra Singh and Shyam Sherpa have been elected as senior vice-presidents of the Federation along with Harisharan KC. Dawa Gurung as General Secretary and Kishore Bhattarai as Treasurer were elected unopposed. Dhwajaman Moktan and Balaram Mitra have been elected as secretaries.

Similarly, Ram Bahadur Singh Thakuri, Sanjay Sundar Sainju, Rabi Maharjan, Hikmat Thapaliya, Tara Prasad Oli, Yadav Kafle, Rajendra Baral, Shahikumari Tinung have been selected as members. Similarly, Treasurer Bhattarai informed that Sanjay Rai and Kamala Rana were again nominated as members by President Lama.

A five-member advisory committee has also been selected from the convention itself. Dipesh Shakya, Niwas Gopal Baidya, Hari Bista, Ganesh Karki and Bishnu Karki are in the advisory committee.

Eighty people, including seventy-six franchised delegates, participated in the convention. Shiteriyo, Gojuryo, Waduryo and Sotokan are the four styles of karate recognized by the World Karate Federation (WKF). This sport started in Nepal in 2038BS through Shiterio Karate.
