KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN (UML)’s Madhav Kumar Nepal group has announced to revive party committees across the country.

Stating that Chairman KP Sharma Oli was trying to divide the party, the group gathered more than 4,000 leaders and cadres from across the country for two days.

Addressing the participants on Thursday, the last day of the gathering, Deputy General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal said, “In accordance with the verdict of Supreme Court, we will begin to regroup the party as of May 16, 2018.”

Stating that they have lost in some of the committees of the party despite their leadership, he said that the committees would be formed under the coordination of the leaders of his party in such committees. “We are the authorities, they are parallel, they are factions,” he said.

He said, “If we labour hard for some months, we can save UML and defeat Oliism.”

A gathering of national cadres of the Madhav Nepal group has passed a 17-point special resolution. Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai said that the conclusion was to make all the committees including the party committee, people’s professional committees, central department and liaison forum active.

Secretary Bhattarai informed that the gathering has decided to conduct party gatherings, meetings and trainings across the country by following the Ninth General Convention.
