Meeting between PM Deuba, UML Chairman Oli underway

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and main opposition CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli are holding parleys now to find out ways to resume the parliamentary business and finalise the US grant assistance MCC, the Prime Minister’s secretariat said.

During the meeting ongoing at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, Nepali Congress (NC) Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki are present while senior Vice-Chairman Ishwar Pokharel and Vice-Chairman Bishnu Poudel are attending the meeting from the UML side.

Earlier today, PM Deuba and Chairman Oli had one-on-one meeting at the federal parliament in New Baneshwor.

With the MCC tabled in the federal parliament, PM Deuba is consulting the top political leadership to ratify it from the parliament based on parties’ consensus.
