Kathmandu, July 28: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has urged everyone not to sell and distribute banned items.
The Department reminded the provision of the Import and Export (Control) Act, 2013, as per which it can determine the goods to bed prohibited and controlled for the export or import. So, the items banned by the authority are not allowed sales and distribution.
The importers, hoarders and traders are especially urged to pay heed to the legal facts- engaging in business by complying with the set obligations and conditions.
If anyone or business entity is found ignoring the diktat, it would face stringent actions as per Import and Import (Control) Act, 2013, the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and other existing laws.
The authority also shared that it has beefed up market monitoring of late. On Monday, various nine commercial firms were monitored in Kathmandu and corrective measures suggested for reform.
The Department shared the information that it had been conducting regular market monitoring by ensuring participation of consumer rights activists and local stakeholders onboard. #nepal #rss
