The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked one and all not to obstruct the social life in the name of staging demonstrations, as some groups are taking to the streets in the past couple of days.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry said its serious attention was drawn to the vandalism of public and private property and obstruction to the citizens’ right to freedom through violent activities. The Ministry also drew attention of all to not carry out such activities.

“The Government of Nepal condemns the violent acts like obstructing the vehicle of former Prime Minister and hurling stone at his vehicle and a probe is initiated against those involved in such incidents,” according to the Home Ministry.

It said the Ministry was keeping a close eye on such incidents.

Agitators staging demonstrations against the MCC had on February 20 pelted stones at a vehicle carrying former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli while coming to Federal Parliament from his residence.
The government is always ready to safeguard the life of citizens and public property, and the government and the security personnel were exercising restraint to the peaceful agitations taking place by using the constitutional and legal rights, reads the Ministry’s statement.RSS
