KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has suspended four leaders who were sworn in as ministers in Lumbini Province and demanded a 24-hour explanation.

Ashok Kumar Yadav, chairman of the Lumbini state committee of the party, issued a statement on Monday seeking clarification from Bijay Bahadur Yadav, Santosh Pandey, Suman Sharma Rayamajhi and Kalpana Pandey Lamsal, who were sworn in as ministers.

He also warned that legal action would be taken against them if they did not resign from the government and give a satisfactory explanation.

Earlier, MPs from Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre) have registered a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel. The JSP is undecided on this issue as the central leadership is in discussion with the CPN (UML) for the formation of possible alliance.

Meanwhile, all four MPs were sworn in as the ministers today amid a special ceremony at the Office of Province Chief.
