Maoist Centre to support PM Deuba on vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

A meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) parliamentary party held in Singha Durbar agreed to support the Prime Minister in his bid to win a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) session scheduled for today.

Nepali Congress (NC) President Deuba was appointed the (new) Prime Minister on July 13 following the July 12 Supreme Court verdict in regard with the writ petitions filed against the May 22 dissolution of the Lower House.

Party lawmaker Matrika Yadav informed about the party’s decision to back the Prime Minister in the attempt to seek the confidence motion.

During the meeting, party Chair and Parliamentary leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ briefed the country’s latest political developments, announcing the party’s support for Deuba.
