Ilam: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, in collaboration with the Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council (NPYC), extended humanitarian support to families affected by recent floods in Ilam District, Koshi Province.
Relief materials were distributed to victims in Mangsebung and Phakphokthum Rural Municipalities, where dozens of households were severely impacted by floods and landslides.
His Excellency Abrar H. Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, accompanied by First Secretary Muhammad Haroon Rasheed and NPYC Convener Richumani Luitel, handed over relief packages at Gajurmukhi Dham, Mangsebung.
The event was attended by Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal, District Police Chief SP Ek Narayan Koirala, the Chairman of Mangsebung Rural Municipality, and local representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi expressed deep sympathies and solidarity with the affected families, reaffirming the strong friendship between Pakistan and Nepal. He described the relief materials as a token of love from the people of Pakistan and lauded the resilience of the victims and the efforts of Nepal’s three-tier government in disaster response.

In a special announcement, Ambassador Hashmi announced four scholarships for MBBS, BDS, and B. Pharmacy programs under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) and 50 scholarships for higher secondary education through NPYC for deserving students affected by the floods in Ilam.
Earlier, during a meeting in Biratnagar, Ambassador Hashmi met with Hon. Riwati Bhandari, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province. He conveyed condolences from the Government and people of Pakistan to the Government of Nepal and expressed Pakistan’s continued commitment to support affected communities in Koshi Province.
