Eleven leaders including Madhav Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal expelled from CPN (UML)

KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has expelled 11 leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal. It has been decided to ask 12 other leaders for clarification within 24 hours.

A meeting of the standing committee held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar has decided to expel Bhim Rawal, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhankri, Sarala Yadav, Pushpa Karna, Kalila Khatun, Niradevi Jairu, Laxmi Chaudhary and Kalyani Khadka from the party along with Nepal and Khanal.

As per the decision of the standing committee on Saturday, Central Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang had sent the letter to give an explanation within 24 hours.

Withdrawal of support from the Sudur Pashchim government

The meeting has also decided to withdraw its support to the Sudur Pashchim Provincial Government. Leader Chhabi Lal Bishwakarma also instructed the ministers to return from the government.

In the Sudur Pashchim, there is a CPN (Maoist Centre)-led government with the support of the CPN (UML).
