KATHMANDU: Nepali Cogress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who has been accusing both inside and outside the party of not taking the initiative to form a new government, was very clear in the meeting of the parliamentary party on Saturday.

According to parliamentarians, President Deuba has made it clear, “This government must be replaced in any cost.”

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had called for a vote of confidence on May 10. According to the Nepali Congress leaders, President Deuba has presented more clearly in both the meetings.

Speaking at the beginning of the meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party held at the Parliament House premises in Naya Baneshwor, President Deuba directed to oppose the Prime Minister’s proposal to seek a vote of confidence. He also said that the government should be changed.

After that, MPs including Dilendra Prasad Badu and Gagan Kumar Thapa expressed their views. They called for a no-confidence motion against the prime minister.

After Prime Minister Oli came for a vote of confidence, there was some debate about what would happen to the no-confidence motion registered now. After MP Minendra Rijal spoke about it, President Deuba addressed the meeting again.

Deuba also expressed concern over the role of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, saying that Prime Minister Oli could dissolve the parliament by forming a minority government without a vote of confidence.

Approving the decision of the party’s central working committee to demand the resignation of the prime minister and take the initiative to form a government under its own leadership, the meeting has also urged other parties not to cast a vote of confidence.
