KATHMANDU: The Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) has decided to present the Environmental Journalism Award to Bharatpur-based journalist Rajesh Ghimire on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5). He will receive prizes and certificates.
The NEFEJ has been presenting the Environmental Journalism Award on June 5 of each year (World Environment Day) to encourage journalists. It has been decided to give this award on the basis of thematic diversity, facts and figures, language, public interest and originality by choosing from the materials and programs published in newspapers, radio, television and online on the topic of environment and sustainable development throughout the year 2020.
The NEFEJ has called on journalists to apply for the award, including their writings and programs throughout the year 2020. The award was decided on the recommendation of a three-member jury comprising former general secretary Rajesh Ghimire and expert member Manjit Dhakal under the coordination of former chairman of the group Laxman Upreti.
He is the 34th journalist to receive the prestigious ‘Environmental Journalism Award-2020’ established by the group. The award will be handed over on the day of the group’s next general meeting.
