BIRUGUNJ: Three people were killed in a lightning strike in Parsa district on Tuesday morning. According to the District Police Office, two persons from Sakhuwa Prasauni and one from Jirabhawani were killed in the lightning strike.
According to police, Raghuvir Yadav, 55, of Devarwana in Sakhuwa Prasauni Village Municipality-4 died after being struck by lightning at around 7 in the morning. Yadav had gone to graze buffaloes in his farmland.
Similarly, 27-year-old Rosula Gadi of Sakhuwa Prasauni-1 Gadiyani, who had gone to graze buffaloes in the morning, also died after being struck by lightning. Another person Rajbali Gadi has also been seriously injured. She was sent to Birgunj for treatment.
Likewise, Asutarni Devi Tharuni, 50, of Jitpur, Jirabhavani-3, died after being struck by lightning, police said. Three others who were with Tharuni have sustained minor injuries.
