Kathmandu, July 13: The Ministry of Education and Sports has distributed educational and sports materials to students residing in the Holding Center housing landless settlers in Kharipati and Bode in Bhaktapur.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel today handed over relief materials to 21 students residing in Kharipati and 18 students residing in Bode. Educational materials including bags, pens and paper, as well as sports materials including carromboard, badminton, chess, volleyball, etc. have been distributed to students in the Holding Centers.
On the occasion, Minister Pokharel said that the government is committed to ensuring the right to education of children.
Similarly, government spokesperson and Minister Pokharel requested people to be assured that necessary coordination and cooperation is being done among the relevant ministries for the overall management of the health and safety of the citizens living in the Holding Centers.
Education Minister Pokharel expressed his commitment to resolve the problem with necessary facilitation if any problems are seen during the enrollment of students in the Holding Centers and their transportation.
Bus arrangements have been made from tomorrow, Tuesday, with the aim of making it easier for students living in the Holding Centers to go to school.
Minister Pokharel, along with officials from the Education and Human Resource Development Center under the Ministry of Education had reached the Holding Center.
Earlier, on Sunday, a team led by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and the relevant ministers had conducted an on-site inspection of the Holding Centers and obtained information about the livelihood of the squatters living there, the problems they are facing, and government facilities they are receiving. #nepal #rss
