KATHMANDU: The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) Parliamentary Party (PP) has decided to ask it’s disgruntled Members of Parliament for clarification.
A meeting of the PP held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday decided to take forward the process of seeking clarification through the parliamentary board, said Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai.
Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal’s group had organized a national cadre meet on March 17 and 18. MPs belonging to this group did not even attend the parliamentary party meeting.
Party leader and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli told the three lawmakers who had reached to hand over the memorandum on behalf of the 38 lawmakers that they would listen to their personal views but would not accept the faction’s proposal.
At the meeting of the parliamentary party, Chairman and party leader Oli said that they had gathered against his instructions and asked the leaders for clarification. “We can think if they self-criticise and accept of wrongdoing or the process of action will be taken forward,” he said.
He was outraged that the some party leaders and MPs had formed alliance with reactionary elements and tried to discredit the CPN (UML) government and it’s Chairman by using false accusations.
Stating that he had met senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal after the Supreme Court’s order but he did not realize the mistakes, he said, “They are trying to discredit us by carrying out factional activities. Now the process of clarification is moving forward.”
